The Oral Transmission (Lung) of the Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyud Dzogchen
Greetings and Tashi Delek to all devoted, diligent, and fortunate students,
Due to the repeated and heartfelt requests from many Dharma friends, I am delighted to announce that I will be giving the complete transmission of the profound instructions of the Supreme Dzogchen Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyud.
This is a unique and extraordinary opportunity to receive the complete Oral Transmission (Lung) of the Dzogchen Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyud of Yungdrung Bön.
The Dzogchen teachings are the highest realization within the teachings of Yungdrung Bön. Therefore, the Oral Transmission is extremely important for its practice.
1. Unbroken Transmission of the Direct Introduction
The core of Dzogchen is recognizing the empty and luminous nature of one's own mind (Rigpa). This realization cannot be achieved through mere intellectual study or reading books. It requires the master's direct introduction, which relies upon the master's realization and blessing.
If the lineage is broken, the practice loses its vital essence and becomes merely words and theories, making genuine realization impossible.
2. The Oral Instructions to Eliminate Confusion and Errors
The path of Dzogchen is subtle and powerful, yet it carries the risk of misidentification — mistaking ordinary mental states for Rigpa.
Within an authentic lineage, the master provides essential oral instructions based on the realization and experience of past accomplished masters. These instructions help the student recognize and overcome obstacles, confusion, and errors in meditation practice.
This serves as an indispensable safeguard for the practitioner.
3. The Swift and Potent Power of Lineage Blessings
To ensure the rapid manifestation of realization and to infuse the practice with spiritual power, the master transmits the uninterrupted stream of blessings from the enlightened masters of the past through:
- Empowerment
- Oral Transmission
- Essential Instructions
This blessing power enables practitioners to directly realize the Dzogchen view experientially, rather than merely understanding it intellectually, ensuring swift and uninterrupted progress on the path.
The Unbroken Lineage
This supreme path traces its lineage directly back to the Primordial Buddha, Kuntu Zangpo, through an unbroken succession of realized masters down to my own Root Lama.
For centuries, this profound teaching has been transmitted directly from teacher to student, preserving its pristine purity, untouched by ordinary concepts or textual alterations.
This lineage is revered for its Fourfold Purity:
- The Transmission of Wisdom is untainted by external scriptures.
- The Transmission of Meaning is free from minor commentaries.
- The Transmission of the Precepts is unmixed with ordinary human speech.
- The Transmission of Realization is undiluted by the influence of negative forces.
The thread of compassion has remained unbroken, and the cloud of blessings has never dispersed.
The Opportunity for Practice and Realization
This teaching is available for fortunate students to bring directly into practice.
Through sincere effort and the guidance of one's Root Guru, realization continuously deepens and matures.
Best Case
In this very lifetime, the realization of Kuntu Zangpo’s Primordial Wisdom may directly manifest within one's own mindstream. All appearances of conditioned existence dissolve into their primordial nature, and the innate radiance of pure awareness naturally arises, leading to enlightenment within the expanse of rainbow body and clear light.
Even if realization is not fully achieved in this lifetime, during the Bardo (intermediate state), when the appearances of:
- Nang (Appearance)
- Ched (Increase)
- Thob (Attainment)
arise, one may immediately recognize the Self-Face of Kuntu Zangpo.
This is an exceptionally rare and precious opportunity to receive the foundational Oral Transmission of one of the most profound and secret Dzogchen lineages.
Those with karmic connection and sincere aspiration are strongly encouraged to attend.
